A Bike Ride!

We took the kids on a bike ride last weekend.  They all had a really good time.  Abby really loved hiking but biking is definitely the boys' thing.  They are wide open while we are riding and they usually lead the pack.  You can hear them laughing the whole time they are riding.  We biked for about 3.5 miles and took a little break halfway through for a little picnic lunch.  Another beautiful day outdoors!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2014 Art Show

The kids' school hosted its annual art show last week.  Each child chooses their favorite piece of art to display. We walked around to check out all of the cool art and then the kids had some fun with the photo booths and props. We came home with 3 new master pieces for our "Art" wall in the playroom.   We went out to dinner after and celebrated with a little ice cream treat.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hiking

We took our first family hike a few weeks ago.  We are really trying to keep the kids active and spend more time outside.  We went to a local park and we were going to just start with about a mile.  We did a little short half mile hike and we were trying to find another little short one.  We ended up taking about a 2 mile hike.  The kids really enjoyed it.  The boys got really tired at the end but they did great considering how long we hiked.  It was such a beautiful day!  So happy to spend time in the sunshine after the brutal winter we had!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Happy Birthday Abby!

I can't believe my little girl turned 9! We celebrated for a whole weekend on her birthday.  We started off with donuts at school on Friday.  One of her good friends Jolie  has the same birthday so the kids got cupcakes and donuts.  Poor teachers!  On Saturday we had Abby's party at a bowling alley.  She invited friends and cousins.  Everyone seemed to have a really good time.  The kids all loved bowling.  That is something we are going to do more of this summer.  The kids had pizza and birthday cake.  We played a few games with the kids before we left.  Then we dropped Abby and her friend off at Jolie's party.  They sang karaoke and had a country music themed party.  We picked her up and she came home to open her gifts finally that night.  After all the excitement she was exhausted.  We decided to play hooky and sleep in the next day because the whole family was so tired.  After we recuperated we decided to go on a hike because it was a gorgeous day.  Abby loved every minute  of it.  We finished off the princess' birthday celebration by eating at our favorite Mexican restaurant.  They sang to her, let her wear the giant sombrero and brought her a yummy chocolate dessert.  We had a great weekend celebrating with our favorite little girl!

Student of the Month

Nathan was chosen as Student of the Month this month.  He was so excited.  He was invited to sit on the stage with the other students of the month for the little celebration. 

Spring Musicals

The kids all performed in their spring musicals at church last month.  They all did a great job considering we missed several weeks of practice because of snow.
