August

We are settling in to our school routine around here.  I started back to work during the second week of school.  I am subbing for the kindergarten parapro that was in the boys' class last year.  I love the teachers I work with and the day just flies by.  My only complaint is that my feet hurt! haha!  Bobby is pitching in more and trying to help me out around the house so we are getting in to the swing of things.  The kids like their teachers and are happy to be back with their friends.  We do have a lot more homework this year but it's manageable.  Abby had dropped Chorus this year and so far is just dancing two days a week.  We decided to not jump into activities with the boys right away this year.  The schedule is much easier than the spring.  We have had Spirt day at school and we all sported our Georgia red & black.  The boys' first homework assignment was to take a picture of their favorite place to read and write a sentence.

Noah's favorite place to read is the big comfy chair.

Nathan's favorite place to read is the screened porch.

The kids discovered a "Dawg" house in a little store downtown.

First Day of School

The first day of school came too fast for us.  We had a great, relaxing summer and we weren't ready to get back into a routine.  However when the day came I think all the kids were pretty excited.  Abby is a big fourth grader this year.  How did this happen so fast?!?  Noah and Nathan started  first grade.  We didn't know any of Abby's teachers but the boys had Abby's first grade teacher, Mrs. Boyter.  Abby had some trouble going to sleep the night before so she had to hang out with daddy for awhile.  The next morning everyone had to get some first day of school snuggles with daddy.  It's always fun when Daddy gets to go in late and take them to school.  Noah did have a little bit of a hard time before we left.  When we went outside to take pictures it was pretty chilly.  He kept questioning me why he wasn't wearing pants to school.  I think he was a little nervous already and he was worried that he would be cold.  Poor guy!  By the time we made it to school everyone was good.  I even refrained from taking a picture of Abby with her teacher.  Bobby told me I couldn't because she was in fourth grade and I would embarrass her.  Of course, I did interrupt the boys' class long enough to get a picture with their teacher.  I could tell the boys were ready for me to go so they could get started with their morning work.  The kids came home happy and I think we will have another good year.  Of course, Abby can't believe how much homework she will have this year.  I've told her over the last few years she has had it very easy.

A little cuddling with Daddy was all she needed to go to sleep.
