Christmas night
On Christmas night we headed out to Mimi and Pawpaws to celebrate with my side of the family. This year we celebrated over at Pam and Jeremy's. We had our traditional Christmas night dinner of appetizers and finger foods. All of the boys did manage to get in time out before we ate dinner. They were getting a little too wild but they did calm down. Life with a family full of boys! We had dinner and then let the kids open their presents. Everyone loved their gifts. Then we let the kids go back to play while the adults opened their gifts. It made things a little calmer. The gifts of the year were Yeti cups and monogrammed vests! Then we opened our stockings and called the kids back down to get theirs. Finally we all had some great desserts. We had a fun night with our family and the kids loved playing with their cousins. We made it home close to midnight that night. We were all exhausted after a wonderful two days of celebrating. Even though our children are a little spoiled at Christmas we feel so blessed that they really do understand the true meaning of Christmas. Through their prayers, blessings and even conversations with school friends I heard all three of them talk of the birth of Jesus and the REAL meaning of Christmas.
Christmas Morning
We had a great Christmas morning. The kids were so excited. Abby said she was going to set her clock for 5:00 but she managed to sleep past 6:00. She woke the boys up but it took them a little while to get fully awake. Once they were awake they were ready to go! We made them wait until we could get cameras ready like we do every year. (Mean parents :}) They came down the stairs, turned the corner and started squealing. Abby was jumping up and down. They all pick up each little thing and turn to smile at the camera! I love seeing them so excited. After they looked at everything we noticed Santa had left a gift bag over to the side for all of them. They went over to open it and found a helmet. They couldn't figure out why he left that. Bobby told them that there might be something else in the garage and they went down and found their 4-wheeler. More squeals! They all had to try on the helmet and sit on the 4-wheeler. Santa also brought wrist guards, elbow guards, knee guards, etc. Santa is all about safety! Then we went back up and opened some gifts. The kids loved what we got them. Bobby and I exchanged gifts. He got me several things I wanted and surprised me with a Keurig coffee maker. I got him the new Star Wars game, some stuff for his gun and some clothes. Bobby then headed into the kitchen to cook our Christmas breakfast. We use all of our pretty Christmas dishes and this year we even decided to eat in the dining room. Breakfast was delicious. The kids spent the rest of the day trying out all of their new toys. We even made it outside for a while to test drive the 4-wheeler. Mommy managed to sneak in a little nap before we headed to Mimi and Pawpaws.
