2007 with two brand new additions to our family

Christmas with Mimi and Pawpaw

We usually do our Christmas with Mimi and Pawpaw on Christmas night but we had a change of plans with our White Christmas.  We waited until Sunday and went over in the afternoon.  It was a gorgeous drive over with all of the snow.  The roads were in pretty good condition but we just took our time, listened to Christmas music and enjoyed the scenery.  We dressed in play clothes to play outside in the snow with the cousins.  We couldn't play outside very long because it was freeeeezing!  The kids loved it and even managed to get Mimi with several snowballs.  Then we went inside, changed into dry clothes and had our Christmas dinner.  We always have appetizers for dinner.  Everyone loves the food.  Meatballs, chicken nuggets, ham, dips and lots of desserts!!!  Finally, we opened the gifts.  I thought poor Nathan and Noah would never survive waiting for gifts.  They found their present wrapped in Toy Story paper when we first walked in.  They just kept going back and poking at the paper all day.  We had a great night and everyone got just what they wanted. The kids loved their toys of course.

Unsuspecting Mimi trying to get a picture with the big "twins."
And... they got her with a little help from Nathan or Noah!
Tonya should know better than to trust Bobby behind her.

Little man liked his backpack.

She just looks so grown up with no bow in her hair.

We surprised Mimi with a new camera for their cruise this spring.

I love Nathan's expression.  They love their Toy Story toys.

We gave Pam a backpack (diaper bag) for Jonathan.

Christmas Morning

What a Christmas to remember!  It started snowing around 10:00 on Christmas morning and snowed hard all day long.  We didn't even make it to Mimi and Pawpaw's because we were a little nervous about the road conditions.  We ended up with at least a couple of inches of snow.  It was beautiful.  We just had a nice, lazy day at home.

The kids actually slept until around 8:30.  Noah, of course, was the first one up.  He had to go and wake Abby and Nathan.  They were pretty slow to wake up as usual.  We went down to check out what Santa had brought.  Abby walked in slowly trying to take everything in.  She only saw the dollhouse at first.  Noah and Nathan ran in and just starting picking up toys.  It took them a little while to notice their bikes.  Once they did they took a little ride around the house. (The first of many!)

Santa brought everyone games this year.  These are the boys' first games.

We gave Abby her first ''big girl" bible this year.  She was thanking Daddy for it.

Heaven!  A brother (Noah) and sister playing quietly together while Mommy and Daddy cook.
Nathan taking a spin on his new bike.  I never thought I would let kids ride a
bike in my house.  I didn't have the heart to make them wait for warmer weather.
This was one of my gifts from Bobby.   He knows that I prefer ribbon to stick on
bows so this was all to aggravate me.

Christmas Eve

Our Christmas festivities start on Christmas Eve each year.  We always pick up pizza and head over to Nana and Papa's for our gift exchange. (By this time each year we have had traditional Christmas dinner twice so we love the pizza.)  The kids, especially the boys, ate lots of pizza and chocolate goodies that Nana baked.  We all had a great time and the kids loved hanging out with their cousins.  We always change the kids into their Christmas pajamas at Nana's and head home late Christmas Eve night.  We have to get home to put out Santa's cookies and food for the reindeer.  This was the first year that the boys helped with this and they loved it.  They knew Santa wouldn't come until they were asleep so they all hurried upstairs.  We read the Christmas story to the kids and then they all climbed into their beds.    I think they were so tired that they were almost asleep before we left their rooms.  It was so much fun to see how excited they all were.

I think we are all singing here after we put out our cookies.

Abby picked exactly which cookies Santa would want.

"No, Noah those cookies are for Santa.  You can't eat them."
