Busy Weekends

A few weekends ago we decided to take the kids to a little fair here in town.  We went last year and discovered that Abby loves the rides.  We took the kids to breakfast and then headed over there.  We got there and noticed the parking lot looked empty.  We asked and found out that it didn't open for another hour. What to do with 3 kids yelling "Rides" over and over?   So, we went to the store, bought some bread and headed to the park to feed the ducks.

Our park does have some very large and friendly ducks.  We have gone to feed the ducks many times before.  However, this time Abby developed a major phobia of the ducks.  Insert a few "Abby fits" here.  Bless her heart! ( and ours)  She really was scared but she still managed to throw  some bread to them.   The boys however loved the ducks.  Nathan was hysterical.  He would eat a bite of bread and then give the ducks a bite.

At least Bobby cooperated and looked at the camera!

Then we headed back to the fair, parked and walked to the rides.  Nobody seemed to be riding rides at this point.  We heard an attendant say the rides didn't open for another hour.  Just the crafts and food were open.  So we walked around for about 45 minutes trying to distract the kids with lemonade and fried oreos.  Abby was tired of walking and the boys just wanted to ride a choo-choo.  Finally, the rides opened!  Hallelujah!!!!!   We let Nathan choose the first ride and here was what he chose.  We tried to convince him that it was a roller coaster not a choo-choo.

Noah and Abby loved it but Nathan wasn't sure about this one.

Here are a few more pictures of the kids on the rides.  Abby loves all rides.  She is a daredevil!  Her favorite is the ferris wheel.  I couldn't get a picture of her on that with Bobby because I was trying to keep up with two little monkeys.  We all had a great time once we finally got started.  Of course, all 3 kids were asleep before we pulled out of the parking lot.  Long but fun day!
