Happy 8th Birthday Abby!

Dear Abby,
It seems like just yesterday that Daddy and I were putting the finishing touches on your adorable, pink room and getting ready to leave for the hospital.  No one could have prepared us for how much you would change our lives.  You were the most beautiful, dark haired, chubby baby.  Everyone talked about how pretty you were.  I will admit the first few months were rough with colic but you grew out of it quickly.  Every night when Daddy came home we would sit in the floor and play together and watch you learn new things.  Mommy would dress you up every day in a cute little dress and take millions of pictures to email to everyone.  You were like my own little doll.  You loved to go just like mommy.  We would go shopping, meet Mimi and Clayton for lunch, go to the grocery store or take walks around the neighborhood.  You could carry on a conversation by the time you were about 18 months so we talked all the time.  You loved books, dress up, baby strollers and Dora.  The boys came along when you were 2 1/2 and you became my little helper.  You were a great big sister and handled the adjustment to not one but 2 babies so well.  You were still in your terrible 2's and 3's and had some tantrums but you soon grew out of that as well.  Preschool was a tough transition but you grew to love it and had wonderful teachers.  You met some of your first little friends there.  The real changes started when you began kindergarten.  We have seen the shyness fade away along with the tantrums.  We are thrilled at all of the friends you have made and how much you adore school.  These days you are always up for a new activity or want to try something new.  You are still in ballet and singing with the church choir and school chorus.  Abby, it has been such a joy to watch you grow and change over the last 8 years.  You have blossomed into such a sweet, beautiful young lady and Daddy and I are so proud of you.  Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Love,
Mommy
