My babies!

Tomorrow my baby boys turn 5!  I can't believe it.  It seems like just yesterday I had 3 babies and next year I will have 3 school kids.  I do love these ages because we can do so much with the kids but I do miss those baby days just  a little.  I wanted to go ahead and post my birthday letters to the boys tonight because we will be very busy the next few days with birthday festivities.  I always like to call it a "birthweek" instead of a birthday and I think I have passed that on to the kids. :)

Dear Nathan,
You will always be my baby.  You tell me all the time that you are a big boy but you can still be my baby.  Nathan, you are such a sweet, quirky, funny, stubborn, happy little guy.  You are very tender hearted and tend to get your feelings hurt easily.  You are also very protective of your brother and sister.  You do not like for any one to upset them or bother them in any way.  Often you thank God for "sweet Noah" or "sweet Abby" during your prayers.  You tell us very funny stories these days.  You have so much imagination and when you tell your stories you are so animated.  Audrey is still your imaginary friend.  Sometimes she does things to get you in trouble.  :)  You like to use big works lately like suddenly and amazing.  You have learned to write your name and always write it on every paper.  I love watching you color and draw because you concentrate so hard on every little detail.  You have made so much progress with your coloring and writing this year.  You can identify all of your letters and most of your sounds.  Each day as you unpack your backpack to put away you can't wait to show me your work. Learning your letters has lead to a fascination with all street signs.  As we ride down the road you try to read them and tell me what they all mean.   You enjoy music and science at school.  You continue to love your school and you are a very social little guy.  You are very outgoing with no hint of shyness.  This year there are 4 boys in your class and you are really enjoying having more boys to play with. However, you and your brother both seem to love the girls already.    You are singing again in the choir at church and you already know all of the words to your Christmas songs.  You still love your trains and always pick a Thomas book to read.  Now, you also love to play with your Batman House and dress up too.  You love to pretend anything.  You and Noah will set up lemonade stands, restaurants, doctor's offices and stores.  Your favorite colors are red and orange.  You would come home from school every day and put on flannel pjs if you could.  This is your favorite thing to wear.  You had your first big injury this year when you tore your ear but you were quite excited to get it glued back on.  You have also already lost 2 teeth.

Nathan, you have also changed a lot this year.  Although you are still a pretty laid back boy you have shown a new side of yourself this year.  Your stubborn side came out!  Even though we don't see this side of you too often you are the most stubborn of the three.  You can also have quite the temper.  Again, we don't see this side of you very often either.  I still just love your little personality.  You are just such a people person and you certainly don't mind being the center of attention at church or school. You are usually a very happy little guy who is always smiling.  After I give you a few minutes to wake up each morning you usually give me a smile first thing.

Happy Birthday my sweet boy!  I love you!
Mommy

Dear Noah,
You are still my little Dennis the Menace.  Just when I think you have grown out of this you get into something.  Just the other day you found my keys and cranked my car.  Yes, now I hide my purse and keys!  Although you are still mischievous and your little mind is always going you have become our little cuddler.  You love nothing better than to crawl into mine or Daddy's lap to cuddle.  Daddy and I certainly don't mind this!  If I would let you, you would probably sleep in my bed every night.
Your little personality is so different.  At home you are one who tends to get in trouble the most.  However, at school and church you are a little angel.  You are a  little on the quiet side at school. You are a rule follower and you want everyone to follow the rules and obey.  This summer Nathan didn't want to stay with me when we were in stores.  You would get so upset and start crying because you thought he would get lost.  You are also very protective of your brother and sister.  You still love school and like Nathan you are really enjoying have more boys to play with.  You and Nathan ask me all the time when they can come over for a sleepover.  You both still love your girls ( as you call the girls in your class).  Last week as you were saying the blessing you thanked God for your girls!  Noah, you also love the older girls.  It seems like everywhere I take you that you will find an older girl to play with.  I  have already had to tell you that you can't go around kissing all the girls.

I am amazed at how much you are learning.  You learned to write your name this summer.  You know all of your letters and most of the sounds.  You are already showing a lot of interest in math, science and technology. (Little Bobby!)  You have already memorized some of your math facts by listening to big sister.  This year we have a new science teacher at the preschool and you love her class.  You can tell me what causes a tornado and anything I want to know about space.  You and Nathan both enjoy the computer but you are the one that loves the video games!  You love Batman and all super heroes.  This summer you discovered the Power Rangers but we had to ban that for awhile because we were playing a little too rough after we watched it!  You and Nathan still love to dress up and pretend.  Your favorite colors are yellow and orange.  Like Nathan, you love coming home and getting into pajamas.  Your favorites are your "footie" pjs.

Noah, you are so independent and wanted to do everything yourself.  I love that about you !  You are still very competitive and you favorite thing to say is "I win."  If you see that you will not win at something, you always tell us that it wasn't even a contest.  Noah, I love that even though you are a big boy you always have time for a cuddle with Mommy.

I love you Noah!  Have a wonderful birthday!
Love,
Mommy
