Busy Weekends

A few weekends ago we decided to take the kids to a little fair here in town.  We went last year and discovered that Abby loves the rides.  We took the kids to breakfast and then headed over there.  We got there and noticed the parking lot looked empty.  We asked and found out that it didn't open for another hour. What to do with 3 kids yelling "Rides" over and over?   So, we went to the store, bought some bread and headed to the park to feed the ducks.

Our park does have some very large and friendly ducks.  We have gone to feed the ducks many times before.  However, this time Abby developed a major phobia of the ducks.  Insert a few "Abby fits" here.  Bless her heart! ( and ours)  She really was scared but she still managed to throw  some bread to them.   The boys however loved the ducks.  Nathan was hysterical.  He would eat a bite of bread and then give the ducks a bite.

At least Bobby cooperated and looked at the camera!

Then we headed back to the fair, parked and walked to the rides.  Nobody seemed to be riding rides at this point.  We heard an attendant say the rides didn't open for another hour.  Just the crafts and food were open.  So we walked around for about 45 minutes trying to distract the kids with lemonade and fried oreos.  Abby was tired of walking and the boys just wanted to ride a choo-choo.  Finally, the rides opened!  Hallelujah!!!!!   We let Nathan choose the first ride and here was what he chose.  We tried to convince him that it was a roller coaster not a choo-choo.

Noah and Abby loved it but Nathan wasn't sure about this one.

Here are a few more pictures of the kids on the rides.  Abby loves all rides.  She is a daredevil!  Her favorite is the ferris wheel.  I couldn't get a picture of her on that with Bobby because I was trying to keep up with two little monkeys.  We all had a great time once we finally got started.  Of course, all 3 kids were asleep before we pulled out of the parking lot.  Long but fun day!

Baby Hayden

Hayden, or Baby Hayden as all my kids call him, came to visit last week.  The 3 boys had a ball.  I fed Hayden his breakfast with a little help.  Then the 3 wild ones proceeded to get into everything possible.  Here are some pictures of our morning:

Both boys are helping out. Don't worry Brad and Tonya because
I was closely supervising.

A little tv time with the guys watching one of their favorite shows.

This one is for you Uncle Brad.

Wild man!

Don't worry Aunt Tonya and Uncle Brad because Noah and Nathan will teach him everything they know.
Actually this little guy had no trouble keeping up with his cousins.  These 3 are TROUBLE!

Abby First Day of Ballet

Abby just started her 3rd year of ballet about a month ago.  It is amazing what she has learned in 3 years.  She is so much stronger, limber and graceful. That is amazing for a child of mine.  Bobby and I love to look at her pictures from her first day each year and compare them.  She is such a big girl now.  We forget what a little chubby baby we had.

First Year

She was still such a baby!

Second Year

Third Year

Look how tall and slim our baby is!
My graceful little ballerina!

I wish I had some video to post.  Abby cracks us up.  When we play our "oldies" (80s & 90s) music, she will make up her own ballet dance to the slower songs.  There's nothing like a  ballet dance to a little Guns n Roses (daddy's music of course).  She's really very good.

Boys' Fire Department Field Trip

This week the boys' preschool class took their first field trip to the Fire Department.  I wasn't sure what to expect taking the wild ones on a walking field trip.  I called in reinforcements and Mimi came to walk with us.
Let me just say that I have never seen any children enjoy a field trip more.  They were in absolute Heaven!  The firemen tried on their suits for the children.  Most were a little apprehensive.  Nathan, of course, was the first one to run up and check it out giving the fireman a big high five.  No FEAR!  Noah followed closely behind.

Next it was onto the fire trucks.  The boys were the first to jump in and check it out.  They tried to buckle up.  The firemen saw how much fun they were having so they let them in the drivers seat.  They pushed and pulled every button and switch possible.  We couldn't get them out.  Little boys and big trucks!

Then we went inside for a puppet show.  They were both singing and dancing.  The expressions on their face was priceless.
Noah got so tickled at the puppets.

As you can see a good time was had by all and the adults survived!!
