A Bit of January

January has been pretty slow so far.  It has been so cold for the south.  We've already missed a day of school due to the cold temps.  Most of the time we have just stayed inside snuggled up to stay warm.  Here's a few pics of our month:

Cuddled up in our snuggies!

Little did I know what I was asking for?!?

Headed out in our Flipeez to stay warm!

My tough guy bundled up to get wood for my fire!

This is how Bobby found her sleeping one night.

And she rolled over like this when he snapped the picture.

My Little Writers

Noah and Nathan just passed another milestone at school.  They have begun to write sentences.  They do an hour long writers workshop every day in their classroom.  It's a great program where the kids have a chance to share their own stories and experiences.  Then they pick one story each day to illustrate and then write about.  They begin with just a story, then add words and finally sentences.  They gradually increase their goal of the number of sentences.  Mrs. Allen was sweet enough to text me their pictures and sentences on the day they did it.  My smart boys!

BFFs

Abby had her BFF Mikayla over for a sleep over while the boys all headed out to Monster Trucks.  They don't get to see each other much these days but they always just pick right  back up where they left off.  I barely heard a peep from them the whole time.  They were playing princess, dress up, pets, etc.  They just had the best time together.  They only stopped long enough for a quick dinner and then some milk and cookies.  They finished up their night with a little makeup session.

The Nutcracker

Bobby surprised Abby with tickets to see the Nutcracker for the weekend after Christmas.  He came up with this idea all by himself and she was so excited when she opened that present Christmas morning.  Along with it, we gave her a ballerina snow globe that played the Nutcracker Suite.  The three of us headed down to Atlanta to the Fox on the Saturday after Christmas.  Of course, we made a little stop on the way for lunch at Abby's favorite...Five Guys.  She was so excited because this was her first time going to the Fox.  She had such a good time and we all really enjoyed the ballet.

She was hopping, skipping and giggling the whole way!
