Lunch with Daddy

Today we headed down to Daddy's office to have lunch before school starts back.  The kids had a great time running around the office and making lots of noise.  They even made copies of their hand on the copy machine before we left.

Here are a few pictures of the real excitement at Daddy's office:

Weekend Fun

Bobby was gone on a fishing trip this weekend so we hung out with Pam, Clayton and Jonathan.  They came over to swim with us Friday and then we went for dinner and a little play time at Chic Fil A.  On Saturday we spent the whole day at the campground with Mimi and Pawpaw.  They had a great time with water balloons and a huge water gun battle.  I have no pictures of this because I was scared to get my camera out.  Bobby got home Sunday afternoon and we headed back to the pool.  He was amazed at how much progress they have all made with their swimming. This weekend flew by and now we only have 7 more days before school starts.  Where did the summer go?

Last Few Weeks of Summer

We officially have 7 days of summer vacation left (for Abby) and we are trying to squeeze in as much as possible.  Abby had a playdate with her friend Emma last week and then  we had Emma over for a sleepover.  We all went to Cici's for pizza and games and the girls came home to watch Tangled.  We celebrated Daddy's birthday.  This week we have made it to the pool at least 3 times.  The kids are becoming little fish.  Abby had another good friend Mia and her sisters over to play one day.  Pam and Clayton came over to swim today.  Mimi, Aunt Pam, Abby and I  ventured out to the Tea House for a little tea party celebrating Abby starting 1st grade.  We had a great time and some yummy food.  Abby just loves anything girly like this.  Pam and Clayton came over to swim today.  Mommy even managed a night out with some of her best buddies from her teaching days.

I also just wanted to have a record of some of the stuff that the boys have been up to lately.
Noah:
-My cell phone disappears on a regular basis.  After the first few times of tearing the house apart, I have learned that Noah either has it or has hidden it behind a box under his bed.  This is all so that he can play "Angry Birds."
-I found a random memory card in Abby's room and she thought Bobby left it there.  After looking at it,  we realized it was a 16 gb card which is huge.  Bobby reminded me that we didn't have one that big for the camera.  We put it in the computer and realized it was for the digital frame.  Of course we questioned Noah.  He told us that he found another card in my desk (which was the old, smaller one for the frame) and liked it better so he traded them.
-Noah actually spelled (or yelled) his name for me the other day.
-Noah is fascinated by the garbage truck (and reallly anything motorized).  He informed me this week that when he gets big he wants to drive a garbage truck.

Nathan:
-We were crazy to worry that Nathan was a late talker because now this little guy never stops talking.  He always has something to say.
-He likes to call Noah a  baby when he is whining to aggravate him.
-Noah was leaving to go to the store with Bobby and Nathan gave him a pep talk.  "Noah, you be good for Daddy.  Noah, you promise you will be a sweet boy.  Ok, Noah?  Remember, you have to  be a sweet boy. If you don't, you won't be able to go back to the store with Daddy."
-He asked Aunt Tonya to read him a book the other night.  It was a Thomas the Train book.  He proceeded to tell her everything that would happen in the story.
-Nathan continues to argue with me that there is an R in his name.  It's hard explaining it to the little guy since R is his middle initial.
-Nathan informed me this week that he wants to go back and live at the  "white house", which is the condo we stay in at the beach.

Bobby's Birthday Celebration

We had a little mini celebration on Bobby's actual birthday this week.  The kids made cards, we hung the birthday banner and gave him a Wii game.  His favorite part of the night was that I surprised him with homeade icecream. (This is one of his favorite things.)  With a little help from my sister-in-law, I was able to get it mixed up and ready by the time he got home.  He "taste-tested" it and we started it up.

We had the big party this weekend with the whole family.  I made homeade baked ziti, which is his favorite meal.  Then we had cake and icecream.  We had a great time just hanging out with our families.  The kids all ran around and yelled and had a good time with their cousins.  The kids and I also gave him a notebook/tablet for his birthday and Father's Day.  He has enjoyed playing with his new toy.

Cars 2!

Well, it is finally here.  The boys have been talking about this for months.  Cars 2 came out a few weeks ago and we took the kids last weekend.  This was the boys first movie at the theater.  They loved it and they were so excited.  We got there early so we could get settled and take several bathroom breaks before the movie started.  From the second we sat down they would say over and over, "Where's Cars 2? Where is Lightning McQueen?."  I was worried that they were driving everyone crazy around us and then a little boy sat down behind us and did the same thing.  They did pretty good.  They sat in their seats until the last 20-30 minutes and they stood for that.  Not too bad for their first time.  All three kids (and parents) loved the movie.  It was cute.
Happy with our popcorn and drinks

Can you tell the sun was a little bright?

Just a little note: It costs a family of five $35 to go to an afternnon movie and $25 to get snacks.  We thought this was terrible.  Luckily we are not huge movie people.  I thought this would be interesting when the kids look back at this years from now.

Last Day at the Beach

Our last day at the beach we spent at the town pool and water park.  The kids loved it but a water park is a little hard to handle with 2 adults and 3 small children.  We spent a lot of time in the pool practicing their swimming and they did a great job.  We were all pooped after a few hours so we headed back to the condo to relax the rest of the afternoon.  Then we got dressed and walked back to town.  We played on the playground, checked out the pier, had dinner and then finished vacation with some icecream.  It was a great week.

Family Beach Pictures

Mommy usually makes one request on vacation and that is for Family Beach pictures one  night.  It is always a nightmare but we usually end up with some decent ones.  My favorite ones are the candid ones we caught of the kids while they were splashing in the water.
