More Fun in the Snow

We were snowed in for 3 days during this last round of winter weather.  We were able to go out the first day and had some great "sledding" snow.  On the second day it sleeted for most of the day so we stayed in.  It snowed throughout the night and we woke up to the most beautiful "Winter Wonderland" on the third day.  We knew it would melt soon with the expected high temps so we got out to play early that morning.  The kids had so much fun even though it was too light and fluffy to sled.  We had snowball fights and made snow angels.  Nathan wanted to make a snow chair or couch.  No one was very interested in helping with this little project.  He finally got started on his own.  He just worked so hard on this little project all by himself.  It reminded me so much of the hours he would spend on his tummy a few years ago playing with his trains.  Noah and Abby finally went in because they were getting cold.  Of course, Nathan never gets cold. He finally finished his couch and laid down on it.  When I went over to take his picture he told me that it would be perfect if I would just bring him a cold drink.  Where does this kid come up with this stuff?

Happy Valentines Day!

After being snowed in for 3 days I think the kids were excited to go back to school for their parties.  Abby's class had a candy exchange this year instead  of exchanging Valentines.  The boys exchanged Valentines and goody bags.  Their class did lots of fun Valentines activities like graphing hearts and making hats.  Everyone had a really fun day and now we're off for Winter Break!  After ballet we had a dinner of chicken parmesan and had brownies for dessert.   Everyone got a fun little gift.  The boys got new Disney Infinity characters and Abby got some new pjs for her American girl.  We were all pretty tired from our first day back so we were all in bed tucked in by 9:00.  A nice relaxing Valentines!

Spikey Hair!

Since Christmas all I have heard  from Noah is that he wants spikey hair.  Every day he would ask me to spike his hair. I kept telling him that his hair was too long.  So, I told him we would get his hair cut so we could spike it.  He actually asked for a Mohawk so we compromised with a little bit of a spike in the front. When the time came for haircuts Nathan decided he needed a spikey cut too!

Grandparent's Day

Each grade level has a turn at inviting their grandparents for lunch.  This time it was kindergarten's turn.  Nana and Alicia were able to come and have lunch with everyone.  They stayed to eat with Abby too.  All of the kids were so excited to see them.  We had a fun lunch.

Snow...Round 2

Well, I wished for snow this year.  Be careful what you wish for!  This is our second round of snow already.  We are in day 1 of a major 3 day winter storm.  We got about 2-3 inches this morning and we are expected to get much more tomorrow. Bobby started in to work and then decided he should probably stick close to home after his last experience trying to make it home in the snow.  He stopped and bought us a few more supplies and scored 3 awesome sleds for the kids.  They couldn't wait to use them .  We just have a small hill in our front yard but they were awesome.  The kids had the best time with them. Bobby started pushing them down the hill.  By the end Nathan would run and dive on his stomach on his and take off.  After sledding we built a family of snowmen.  They turned out pretty cute.  We really enjoyed our first day of snow but we are just praying that we don't get a lot of ice and lose our power tomorrow.
