Art Show

Tonight we went to Abby's school for their annual art show.  She picked her favorite piece to be displayed which was "Sailboats at Sunset."  She really did a great job with it.

Today was spring picture day for the boys.  They looked so cute in their little green shirts.  They all 3 ended up matching so I wanted to snap a quick picture.  As you can tell by the picture, Noah was not in the mood.

Abby's Birthday-Final Celebration

We have had a 5 day celebration going on around here.  I did forget to mention that we had chocolate chip cookies on Friday night at home with just the 5 of us.  We sang to her and let her blow out candles in her cookies!  You have to do something special on the actual birthday no matter how much partying you have planned the next day! :) We finished off today by celebrating at school.  Daddy couldn't come because he had already missed so much work due to all the sickness around here.  The boys and I took Chic Fil A for lunch and Krispy Kreme donuts for a treat.  Abby didn't think she liked donuts until she went to Krispy Kreme over Christmas.  Now, she loves them!  Just like her mommy! We had lunch in a little side room with 2 of Abby's closest friends and then passed out the treats to the class.  All of the kids loved them.  Abby had also got to say the Pledge over the intercom that morning with the principal.  Later her class made her a birthday book.  She had a terrific day finishing up her "birth week" at school.

Abby's Birthday Celebration-Round 2

Abby, Daddy and I left her tea party and headed out to the American Girl Store.  We had reservations for dinner at the Bistro and then Abby was going to use her birthday money to do a little shopping.  She was able to buy her doll, Abigayle  3 new outfits, a hairbrush and a pet dog named Honey.  She had the best time just looking around the store and shopping.  It is truly a little girl's (and big girl's) dream!  This was the first time that she has taken her birthday money to shop.  She picked out a couple of things and then seemed a little hesitant.  Daddy and I actually encouraged her to spend more of her money. I'm sure we won't have to do this when she's a teenager.  We made an appointment to get her doll's hair done and then headed into the bistro for dinner.  The bistro was adorable.  Everything was a shade of pink.  So cute!!  Abby had her favorites-fruit, chicken fingers and mac-n-cheese.  Then she had the cutest little ice cream cones for dessert. The staff sang Happy Birthday to her and she loved every minute of it.  We finished up and had Abigayle's hair styled.  We finished off our night by shopping at Best Buy.  Abby got a DS case and a new game.  We all had a great time.  Daddy and I love to spend time with each of the kid's individually.  Abby told us that it was one of her best days ever!!!

Abby's Tea Party

Abby's birthday fell on Friday this year and she had the day off from school.  I had planned to do some fun things with the kids that day but plans changed.  I finally caught the strep bug that has plagued our house the past month.  Daddy to the rescue! He stayed home to take care of me and get the house ready for the party.  Abby started her 4 day birthday celebration with breakfast at Waffle House with Daddy and her brothers.  Everyone came back happy and full.  It is their favorite place to eat breakfast.

Abby chose a tea party this year for her birthday.  She selected the menu which consisted of fancy finger sandwiches (crowns and hearts), chocolate dipped strawberries, fruit, cheese, candy dipped pretzels and marshmallows and cupcakes for dessert.  We also planned a little craft.  Each girl made her own ribbon flip flops which turned out super cute.  Abby requested that we only plan one thing because she wanted some time to just play in her room with all of her friends.  We finished up with opening presents and letting her guests make a goody bag at the candy buffet.  We all had a great time!

A big thank you to all who helped since Mommy was under the weather. Daddy was a champ and did a great job on the house.  Mimi picked up all of the balloons, flowers and cupcakes.  Mandy, Alicia and Nana helped to set up the party and curl the birthday girl's hair.  Thanks for helping to make Abby's day perfect!
