Halloween at School for Abby

Last week Abby had a full day of celebrating at school.  We started the day with the  annual Book Character Parade in the parking lot.  This is fun because all of the teachers dress up too.  The office staff always does a great job and this year they were the Peanuts gang.  After lunch we had craft time in the classroom where the kids stuffed rubber gloves with candy and made skeleton hands.  We followed that up with snacks.  Abby and I went home for a couple of hours so she could rest.  Then it was back to school for her first Chorus concert.  She was so excited and they all did a great job.  We went straight from there outside to the Fall Hoedown. Abby played several games and got to see her friends.  I think we finally made it home about 10 that night after we picked up the boys.  Wow!  A long but fun day!  Abby said it was one of the best days of her life.

Fall Fun!

We all went to Mimi's and Pawpaw's a few weeks ago for  a little fall party.  Pawpaw took us on a hayride.  We had Halloween cookies and snacks.  We took some fall pictures for Mimi.  It's no easy job getting six kids to cooperate for the camera.   Mimi had also planned to carve a pumpkin and make smores but we ran out of time.  We also celebrated my birthday with a homemade apple cake.

Pawpaw let each of the kids drive the tractor before the hayride and they loved it!  Then we all piled on for the hayride.  They live next to a horse farm so we had a very pretty little ride.  The best part of the hayride was when the hay bales split apart and Mimi and Tonya fell.  I managed to catch it in pictures.  Their reaction was priceless!

Noah & Nathan's Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Last week the boys went on their annual field trip to the pumpkin patch.  We visited a petting zoo and got to pick our own pumpkins.  We also took a hayride and got to feed the cows in the pasture. (Not Mommy's favorite part) Then the kids were able to play on a huge slide and a hay bale maze.  There was also a corn maze but I was a little nervous about taking the two of them in a corn maze without any backup.  It was a fun, little trip and the boys enjoyed playing with their friends.  Our weather was perfect and it was another gorgeous fall day!
