Pumpkin Patch

After a day of apple pickin last weekend we finished off our weekend with our annual trip to the pumpkin patch with our friends.  This is probably about the 5th year our two families have gone together.  It's a fun little tradition that we look forward to every year.  The kids love to get together and Belinda and I love to plan their cute little fall outfits and take way too many pictures.  We had another day of gorgeous fall weather.  We took a hayride, ran through a maze, rode "tractors", visited a petting zoo and picked out our very own pumpkins.  There was a funny little thing that happened in the petting zoo.  The boys decided to run ahead a little.  I didn't think too much of it since we could still see them.  Bobby caught them running around and trying to let all of the other animals out of their pens.  It would have been interesting to see what they would have done after they let them out because the boys are actually a little scared of animals.  I finished off my day with a big, fat bag of boiled peanuts.  Yum! Many, many pictures to come!  What is cuter than a bunch of cutie pies surrounded by pumpkins?

Apple Pickin

Last weekend we packed in as much "fall" fun as possible.  On Saturday we visited an apple orchard and picked apples.  We went with Tonya, Brad and Hayden.  The kids all had such a good time.  As soon as we picked a few my kids started eating the apples.  You would have thought they had never had an apple before.  I guess nothing beats eating it right off the tree.  After we left the orchard, we met up with Mimi and Pawpaw for lunch at a bbq restaurant.  The kids all had to take a ride on the "pig" before we left.  We finished off our day by stopping off at an Apple house on the way home.  We had homeade icecream, fresh apple cider and fried apple pies.  We came home tired and stuffed!

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

I always post good things on our blog so I thought I would put a few of the bad and ugly.  The bad is that we had a little sickness going around.  Nathan had strep a few weeks ago.  Both boys were wheezing and had to go on inhalers for a few weeks.  Abby had a tummy ache for a few days too.  All seem to be on the mend now.  Luckily, the strep didn't turn into an epidemic this time around.

We've also had a few injuries.  Big surprise!  Noah walked into someone swinging the other day and had a nice black eye for a few days.  Nathan fell and hit a chair at Mimi and Pawpaw's house.  He managed to cut and actually tear his ear.  We went to urgent care and they were  able to glue his ear back together.  Nathan ran back out into the waiting room after it was all over and yelled, "Hey Pawpaw, it's ok, they glued my ear back on!".  He has told everyone about having his ear glued back on.  As I always say, "Never a dull moment."

Glam Girls

Our Chic Fil A hosted a Glam Girls' Night put on by a local salon.  Abby and I went with her best friend Mikayla and her mother.  We had dinner and then the girls had their "salon" appointments.  They styled their hair (complete with glitter), did their nails and makeup.  The girls loved it.  They have missed each other so much and they were giggling and talking non stop the entire night.  They were absolutely adorable as if they could get any cuter!
